How’s everyone doing?! I hop everyone is well. Been awhile since I’ve been on here.  I was wondering if any one had ideas as to how to help improve anxiety? Right now I can’t financially afford psychiatric doctors for anxiety medication. So I was wondering if other alternatives.

@Tiffany Have you thought about meditation? There are a lot of free, guided, introductions to meditation on Youtube that you can watch. Even if you don't like the meditation part, a lot of it is linked to breathing and even just taking a minute to sit and breathe deeply really helps me. There are a bunch of apps now too that can help, some of them have a pay wall, but they usually give you a week or so to test it out.

Or if you're like me and you can't sit still, yoga can be good, because it's focused on being calm and breathing but you're still moving through out.

Obviously nothing is quite a replacement for therapy and/or medication, but I think they complement really well and can be a lot of help. πŸ™‚

I've had severe anxiety for years. I've been on meds for awhile now and I wouldn't go back to none. However, the first couple of years I saw a naturopathic doctor. She taught me a lot of natural ways to cope, but they did not cut it for the hard stuff. When I need extra help, Lavender tea is my go to. Lemon balm, taurine and Honey Lavender tea (from Yogi teas I believe) help. Passionflower has also helped me in the past, as well as GABA (gamma amino buteric acid). Breathing is my saving grace. As long as I keep breathing, and doing deep breathing, I can get through things. Distraction, doing something you enjoy that is calming or puts you in the zone.
