I recently was prescribed the use of a small nasal device for sleep apnea. It comes with no mask, no machine, no tubes whatsoever. It has 2 soft "prongs" (very similar to nasal pillows) that fit just inside the nose. When you exhale, you get the same effect as if you were breathing in a mask or through nasal pillows using the machine.

I'd given up on treating my apnea after trying every mask out there and failing to adjust to any of them. Then, along came BongoRX. So far it's working great. I adjusted to it the first night. After using it for a couple of months, I'll get re-tested and see how effective it is.  The company website says it's designed to treat mild and moderate apnea, not severe.

You need a prescription for this device and unfortunately, insurance doesn't cover it. It's not cheep, around $200.00 if you buy it on the company website, but I got it for $159.00 on the CPAP site. It's been worth every penny.

I've posted about this nasal device before (no mask needed), but maybe it's too new for many people to have discovered it. I'm having trouble keeping it inside my nose and wonder if I need to go to the next size up.

@sleepy It's a very small device with 2 air vents that fit just inside the nose. No masks or hoses. You inhale normally, and on the exhale, there's pressure that opens the airway and keeps it from collapsing. The airway stays open till the next inhalation.
