I think there is a wide range of things that can make COPD worse, cold weather is one of them, so I wouldn't judge your mom too hard for saying "no". But I will open this forum up to other members living with COPD and see what they have to say.

What factors make your COPD worse? Is it weather? Seasons? Allergies to certain plants? Particular activities?

Medication, treatments, and exercise : treatments for emphysema and COPD
I have a question for those suffering with COPD- Do you have more problems being outside in the fall with your COPD? My mom has it and she claims that she can't come with me and my kids to outdoor fall activities because of her COPD. I wanted to do a day at the farm, like with hey rides, apple cider, pumpkin patch, etc. But my mom chose not to come claiming it makes her COPD worse. I just want to know if that is true or she just didnt want to go.
thanks for your help
