I've been having a very difficult time lately emotionally... I can't help being disgusted at my own body and it makes me depressed and angry. I live alone, don't have a partner, and don't know how I'll ever get one now. Has anyone else felt like this or am I just crazy?

Good advisor

@jackson12 Hey, I really know what you mean. I'm not single, but the thought of being sexual or intimate with my husband anytime in the near future seems impossible. I'm struggling with my body too, and losing my hair, eyelashes and eyeborws has really knocked my confidence. I don't feel feminine anymore. Some days I feel ok and I remind myself of what I'm going through, but other days I see myself in the mirror and want to cry.  For now I'm just trying to focus on getting through my treatment and I'll think about the rest after. You are beautiful, regardless of what cancer has done to you! emoticon heart

@jackson12 @missshe I definitely relate to this too. Cancer treatment is ROUGH and I definitely looked that way. I lost my hair too during chemo and my skin got this pasty color too it too. It was like every other women I'd see looked beautiful and brave while I looked like holy hell. I ended up getting a wig and it was amazing. It did wonders for my self-confidence and I ended up wearing it for months because I looked so good in it! Just having hair back did so much for me. Stay strong ladies! You will get through this, it's just a matter of time!

Good advisor

Hello everyone, thank you for starting and participating in this discussion. @jackson12‍ I'm sorry to hear you're feeling this way, though it's true that cancer treatment can have a profound effect on how we feel about ourselves.

Has breast cancer had an impact on your self-esteem? How have you managed to reconnect to your "new" body?@tx775204‍ @Wvmahaney52‍ @Medebar‍ @moseygoat73‍ @DeborahWalker‍ @Teonna‍ @Jane123‍ @MerylK‍ @tonibroad2‍ @catalinawoman‍ @Nikkie313‍ @Tonyakendrick‍ @honeybabedeb1‍ @Rayellea‍ @Sharon770‍

Take care,

Hello Courtney. Yes. I was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer of the left breast in 2018 I think. I wasn't sad or shocked or even scared. It was because we caught it early. There was a biopsy done. Then surgery. Then radiation treatments. Now I'm on Anastrazole. I am in remission right now. It's an incredible journey. I put all my faith and trust in God in this journey.

Good advisor

@jackson12 I was there during my treatment too. Completely understand. There's something dehumanizing about cancer and cancer treatment. I hope you're feeling better now! Feel free to share an update!
