Hi @Lee__R I never really received a treatment plan. The medical team basically discussed with me the treatments I had to take to attack the cancer. However, I was somewhat involved in my choice for breast reconstruction. I am thankful for the breast reconstruction.

My doctor has included my thoughts... He initially wanted to start with chemotherapy, however, I wanted to and felt that mastectomy was my best option. After 4 doses of chemotherapy and rough-side effects, I started pushing more for the mastectomy and he is open to the procedure. We are facing another dillema.
I think overall my doctor has included me in the treatment plans, has explained the risks and benefits, and listened to my voice... while I wish he would listen to me a bit more, he is the doctor, so I am putting faith in him as well.

Hi - for me I've been lucky to have found a doctor that both listens to my doubts, concerns and ideas but also makes sure he makes his opinion clear without being too pushy. He actually listens to what I think or have to say and takes time to address whatever it is I am feeling.

I have TNBC. I’ve already had a lumpectomy and Thursday I will start TC chemo after four rounds of chemo they’ll discuss the radiation.

I just had a mastectomy. I will be turned over to oncologist in Sept. It has been mentioned he may suggest a pill form of chemotherapy. Has anyone had experience with this type of therapy? I have COPD and on oxygen. I am concerned about chemo worsening my COPD. I am 83 yrs old and blessed to be alive and living independently.

I was not offered any options. I was told stage 3 invasive breast cancer would compel me to undergo mastectomy to get well. Now I that the mastectomy is completed and healing, I am being referred to an Oncologist

Hello everyone,
When diagnosed, how much did your doctors include you in your breast cancer treatment plan?
How does your plan look? Surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy - or maybe a combination?
