Hello, I am a 52 yo male and have been diagnosed with COPD by spirometry. I am supposed to go back in a couple weeks for a follow up. However, is this the test that everyone went through for diagnosis with COPD?

I did get diagnosed with the spirometry test, but if I remember correctly I believe I also had a X-RAY of my lungs and another lab test.
How are you feeling @mrmiles? I am sorry you just got diagnosed.

I also got diagnosed with the spirometry test. Are there other ways?
The doctor suspected I had COPD after a initially asking me some questions, sending me for an X-Ray, and performing a physical exam.

i had two X-rays done nothing out of the ordinary, had spirometry test evidently I didn't pass that was January 2017,. I was put on 2 inhalers, 3 months later I am walking 6 miles in 1 hour and 45 minutes without any inhalers. I smokedfor 28 years and quit 6 years ago... I'm not sure what's going on with me but I feel great for almost 47 years old
