Been reading about this off and on due to the left side of my tongue being swollen off and on usually lasts about a couple of days or sometimes a week.

Anyways, it's very painful and anything food etc that touches it hurts as well. It's like a tingling painful feeling and swollen.

Does anyone else expierence this?

@TheMSDad‍ @MS_283‍ @LynndMS‍ @Lee__R‍  and anyone else who wants to reply, just @ the ones I talk to most but all advice or comments from anyone are welcomed.

Thank you Carenity members

Hi @Emma2190‍ sorry for the late reply. Is your tongue actually swollen or feels swollen, but really isn't?

I have experienced weird symptoms such as a burning sensation in my tongue, which can be painful. My tongue would feel almost numb some times. However, I have not had this symptoms for at least a year now.

How often do you experience these symptoms and discomfort in the tongue?

@MS_283‍ No worries on the late reply, I have been busy too and dealing with a lot.

I think it feels swollen but isn't everytime I check and yes it is painful and numb too when it happens. If I had to guess for how long, I would say a couple months at least and I spoke to my Neurologist too about it who was baffled I guess. Good to know someone else has experienced this and I am not alone, but also sorry to hear you have felt this pain.

The same goes with my face, it also feels swollen but isn't.

@Emma2190 I am sorry to hear about this additional symptom. I know you recently had a follow up appointment with the doctor. Is this the neurologist you spoke about it with that you mentioned above?

@Emma2190 This can be attributed to MS; trigeminal neuralagia and glossopharyngeal neuralagia are more common in those with MS. Make sure all nutrients and vitamins are in check, so there are no nutrient deficiencies.

Did you bring this new symptom up to your doctor at recent appointment?

@MS_283 Yes and he never heard of this before but assumes it is neurological like you said and maybe the new med will help with that too. Not sure but hope so.
