I am 64 years old and have been living with bipolar disorder for 40 years. There were many dark days, decades really. But there is hope! I am a success story! It is possible to live a full, happy and productive life with bipolar.

Please share with us your successes and how you achieved them.

I think Carrie Fisher said it best:

"At times, being bipolar can be an all-consuming challenge, requiring a lot of stamina and even more courage, so if you’re living with this illness and functioning at all, it’s something to be proud of, not ashamed of. They should issue medals along with the steady stream of medication"

@Evii1957 I too have struggled with bipolar for most of my life, but for some reason when I had my two sons, from pregnancy to birth to the age of 16 of the youngest one, I had no instances of bipolar and was on no medication, I was so focused on raising my two boys, and I was married

i have a very successful life now, no bipolar problems, but I have to be on my meds

@tessgheith I'm happy to hear from a fellow success story. I agree meds are so important. I consider them life and death.

Keep on keepin' on

I haven't been on here for a long te and just now read through all the posts. My heart goes out to everyone who is suffering. Isolation just makes everything worse I know. And kudos to everyone who is finding their way. There is hope.
