Time

My enemy, my friend
At the beginning and the end
I never have enough, or it’s just goes by too fast
Yet when there is to much, my thoughts get lost in the past

You are forever a revolving door that never ceases
I can’t get out each time so I fall to pieces
Get it together, there’s too much to do
But despite my attempts, I can’t seem to find the right glue

So, I manage as I have, or really it manages me
I’ll submit and give in because that’s all I know how to be
Don’t worry my friend, I’m an infinite being
Because with no beginning nor end I’ll forever be fleeing

@Jayjenwalter Poetry is such a wonderful outlet to share our emotions! Did you know that there's even a form of therapy (called poetry therapy) that uses written and spoken word to promote mental well-being? If you don't mind, I'll tag some other members who may not have seen your poem yet. emoticon cute

Hi everyone, how are you doing? Have you had the chance to read Jayjenwalter's poem yet? What do you think? Does poetry or other forms of writing or expression help you process what you're feeling or even help you to feel better?

I love it, I always felt poetry to be a great outlet to express and release feelings.

I use to write all the time as a child, poetry and stories, I haven't had much drive to write recently. But I definitely do love it. If you have anything else please tag me, I'd love to read.

Utility
I’ve  paid the bills, by taking the pills...But the lights still aren’t on

I’ve talked it through, with the docs, a few...But the lights they still aren’t on

How can this be? Could it just be me, as to why the lights aren’t on

I’m told it’ll be a while, so I must put on a smile... until the lights get turned back on

Here is one I wrote for my father who had died:  "A Song for Norman."

It goes like this;  Listen, listen can you hear it?

The rhythm and the beat are so familiar.

Noise it's not... The crawling of the notes are amongst the trees.

The voice is humming, amongst the falling sun.

A Song for Norman, may we all hum.

The best of me is written, the songs are all in tune.

Another wish that he is around again... But, he is not forgotten.

A Song for Norman, may we all hum...

I have written some poetry in my life. But I find just writing in my journal helps. It's like my best friend. When things start feeling like I'm losing control, I pick up my pen and just start writing whatever comes to mind. Sometimes when I go back later and read it I feel silly. But it's private and I can say anything I want to.
