@rorydawn07 hi! How are you doing today? Any chance you are dealing with depression while doing school work at home? I know this has mentally affected many kids/teens. If you are currently doing school work at school- did something trigger this downward spiral? Feel free to private message me if you prefer. Big hugs.

@rorydawn07 I know school can cause depression and anxiety for many reasons. Do you have a counselor or therapist to speak to? Have you tried any medications for depression? My first antidepressant was prescribed just after my senior year of high school. I likely needed it before then but never reached out for help.

@Macksnap1 I recently started needing days off because I can’t hide it anymore

@Macksnap1 I do understand your predicament and what makes matters worse, is employers who don't understand. And some do not care. They have different agendas; money, greed and power. Do not become consumed with their narcissitic motives. What is more important at this moment in your life is you. Cuddle yourself. Pamper yourself. . You , and you alone, can bring yourself out of your dilemma with willpower. Desire to do it. You can do it!

@Cryingtime WOW, you just need some good "ole fashioned "TLC" in your life. don't you? I know that depression is a very debilitating illness, that weighs very heavy on a person> It robs you of every ounce of energy and depletes one' s interest in hobbies, love life, and just about everything that keeps one from thriving in life. Sound very familiar. doesn't it? May I ask you some questions? How long have you endured these feelings of unworthiness? suicidal? overwhelmness? You also mentioned in your comment above, that finding a therapist has been quite a challenge for you and you have been very discouraged and frustrated. I want you to know that, you shouldn't feel as if you are "dumping" all your problems on someone else. You are welcome to write me and we can find a way to lighten your severe case of depression. I truly believe that " a day taken at a time, is one day toward the process of healing" . It may not happen in a day or a week or month, but just taking it one day at a time is a beginning for you. " A journey of a thousand miles, always begins with the first step". I was on my way to becoming a neuroscientist, and then my beloved wife and best friend of 30+ years, passed away suddenly from end stage renal failure. I too, suffer from severe depression and anxiety. The one promise that I made to my best friend, was to go and get my doctorate. Its a struggle to plant one foot before the other and tell yourself, "I have got to do this. I have got to get up and do it, I've got to get up and exercise. go for a walk in the neighborhood" One day at a time, you do it, A week goes by ; a month goes by and you look back for one second and realize how far you have traveled down those one thousand miles. You got this, Crying time. You know you got this!!!!!! Until I hear from you again, Happy Easter! Remember this , you are at your finest moment when you are the happiest; you are smiling and in your own element, at peace with yourself. " As Roy Rogers would have said, "Happy trails to you."--Harry

@melissa8305 I've personally been wanting to talk with someone on medications. I've tried a few. Theres a side of me that doesnt want to feel like I'm cheating. For instance- grew up being called a coward and so it's been in my head I need to prove I'm not - so I would get into fights etc to feel better. But read an article where everyone on antidepressants had a diminished level of empathy compared to normal levels. Read another where a guy said Prozac made him fearless even with physical danger. Now I'm stressed that the different meds I've tried should get all the credit for any past bravery or anything. What's been your experience?

I recently struggled with depression after having a traumatic experience. I'm now slowly recovering and making changes to my lifestyle, but I never thought it would happen to me. Thanks to those who were supportive.
