My girlfriend ended the relationship due to my depression and anxiety and because of the feeling that she had to try to fix it, she helped a lot even just by being there but she doesn’t believe it, what do I do, me and her are still close and stuff but I have no clue on where to begin, any thoughts??

@Zachary My boyfriend broke up with me because of my depression as well. He made me feel less of a person I was hurt it drove me to have a mental breakdown. What I did was focus more on my mental health get meds love your self, treat your self, pray mediating, take a walk, learn more ways to help you deal with your depression then you will find ways to manage it also to deal with your relationships. Of course you will have your good days/ bad days but keep pushing

maybe giving research to the significant other will help. helping them understand the facts about the diagnosis could help them understand you. what you’re going through is not their job to repair or their fault. just being connected with someone can help. miscommunication can happen when explaining emotions. what you feel and describe might be different from how someone else describes that emotion. medical facts can help with the miscommunication. the diagnosis is a part of your life, introduce it to others as a friend not as a prison warden.
