Hello everyone!
How are you feeling today?
Red blood cells use the protein hemoglobin to transfer oxygen to your tissues and muscles, and iron is necessary for this process. Therefore, when you have low iron levels, your cells don't obtain enough oxygen to operate correctly, which frequently results in fatigue, weakness, and even anxiety and a state of despair. Anemia, a disorder that can result in severe fatigue, shortness of breath, dizziness, headaches, and other symptoms, might eventually develop as a result of the shortage of oxygen in your cells that is brought on by this failure to make enough hemoglobin. However, low iron may also be linked to mental health problems including anxiety, depression, or other problems, in addition to physical symptoms.
According to a sizable study published in BMC Psychiatry in 2020, individuals with iron deficiency anemia had a considerably higher rate and risk of developing anxiety disorders, depressive symptoms, sleep problems, and psychotic illnesses.

What do you think? Can low iron cause anxiety? Have you checked your iron levels lately?
Take care,
