Hello members, does anyone have any input for @iluvdarla3 questions. This is a common question from those diagnosed with prostate cancer... the pros and cons of radiation vs prostatectomy.
Feel free to comment and share your experience.

I was diagnosed last month. Was thinking I had PC for months. I am choosing Radiation..... Results seem to vary. I felt for me it was the best choice to be able to have tratments and still work....

Had 5 cyberknife treatments over 10 days and was done, had side effects for about 30 to 45 days at rectum, but they passed after that and now everything is good. Would highly recommend this treatment as very few side effects and treatments is done in 5 treatments

@iluvdarla3
I would buy a good up to date book on pc. Patrick Walsh has a good one out. I had surgery 6 weeks ago and still have some incontinence when coughing hard, etc. I wear a liner in my underwear. They say doing Kegal exercises will help to become continent quicker.

You can do the radiation, I did the heavy 5 day every other day, if you do it do the longer milder radiation. I have some urination problems and wear a liners in under wear. Get 3/4 hard erection, have spermless organisms.

@Lee__Your main problem should be now you protect yourself from the females who will abuse you.

@iluvdarla3 My urinary incontinence has been exacerbated bu having females abuse my genitals. If you want effective treatment do not allow females to abuse your genitals.

I made the decision to have my proste removed and it was not an easy time... just as hard as finding out you had prostate cancer... I was advised by my doctors the surgery was the best option because of my age and the harmful affects of radiation longterm. For me, once I made the decision, I did have the peace of mind knowing that the actual cancer was "removed" instead of just treated... which, I guess, did give me some sense of comfort.
The biggest issue for me once the surgery was done and I was on the road to recovering was the effects it had on me emotionally/psychologically, which many people in my opinion overlook. I encourage anyone and everyone, when diagnosed with prostate cancer, before and after treatment and during, to seek psychological help... there is nothing wrong with it. Medications, counseling, and just talking about your feelings can help tremendously. Do not hold it all in and try to battle the anxiety and depression because this diagnosis will affect you, no matter how strong you may consider yourself to be.
The sexual effects treatment has on you will also affect you mentally, because your sexual ability and ability to have kids will likely be affected. Your performance ability can be likely fixed, but it can still affect you mentaly. Take care of yourself.

I have three small tumors in my prostrate slowest growing kind but still want treatment for it.
I am wanting to hear from people who have had removal and or radiation. I really don’t know which I should choose. I am very concerned which one would be better for having no damage to my urinary continence
