Hello Carenity Members,

I have seen in thedepression forums that there are many posts about people needing someone to talk to/listen to and feeling of overwhelemed with life or facing depression for various reason

I have created this discussion group and PINNED it so that it will remain at the top for people to do several things:

1) Those needing someone to talk to, can briefly state what they are struggling with - their situation - and that they would like to talk with someone.

2) Those who would like to listen/talk to someone else, can then private message that user directly and begin a conversation.

or

3) Those who have either overcome their depression to an extent or just really want to help and listen can also comment and say just that - basically offering themselves to be contacted.

I hope this helps open the communication and organize the forum as well. I think peer support is essential, especialy when in our own lives, perhaps we feel blocked out.

As always, there is the general forum for any and all other discussions.

If situation is very bad, please know your life is important and reach out to a medical professional or call Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273-8255

Thank you,

Lee__R

I always feel like I'm not enough. I'm married to a man I love dearly. We've been together for 10 years married for 5. He always tells me positive things about myself but I never believe him.  I'm tired of feeling like a failure, ugly, not worthy, uninterested in things I used to love.  I often feel as though I shouldn't even be here.  I have noone to talk to about these things because the one I really want to talk to doesn't understand.  Just tired of feeling alone.

hey yall I'm new here. I'm wondering if theres any one out there who could talk to me. I'm really having a rough time. searching for work filing for unemployment and waiting for workmans comp settlement to come in. I'm at home with a 3yr old little girl 24/7/365 or 366 while my significant other finds it nice to leave work and no go straight home when hes supposed to. due to the weather hes been using his uncles truck because our car will not go in the snow and ice. why do I feel like I'm alone

Lately I have really been struggling with basic things like getting out of bed in the morning. I have no motivation to do anything and it's really starting to affect myself and those around me. My grades in school are terrible and i'm failing all of my classes but whenever i try to do my assignments I can't focus and it's really hard. I'm scared to ask for help cause I don't want anyone to judge me. I feel like my life is falling apart and that nothing is going to get better.

@gracefrandsen I had a similar problem when I went to college some 20 odd years ago.  I flunked out of two schools that I worked very hard to get into, the first because I could not focus, and the second because I could not care.  Wound up bouncing around from job to job until the age of 23, when I was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia and still suffer symptoms of that illness.  I am  now 43.  Please take care of yourself and get yourself checked out if you think you ever need it.  God bless.

Depression and Anxiety is magnified right now.

My daughter is 32 and she has 2 blood disorders.  Because of this she is getting a hysterectomy because her blood thinners kick her butt during her cycle.  After each cycle she needs iron infusions.  She isn't having anymore kids. Her first baby was still born because of this disorder,  She didn't know she had problems until after that pregnancy.  She has an almost 5 year old daughter and knows she can't safely have another child. She or both is at high risk of death. SO...it's time for the hysterectomy.  She is scheduled for Monday, 2/22.   I am also an Empath so this magnifies everything especially since it's my daughter,  I feel everything she feels and then she comes to me for support and I have nothing left to give.  I feel so horrible.  I have always had this ability but the older I get the stronger it gets.

She will text me all day to say how she doesn't feel good.  I can just answer once or twice and then just put the phone away but when we get home from our jobs her anxiety is through the roof.  Of course she is scared, I get that 100%.  I myself have had several surgeries so I totally get it.   This is only her 2nd surgery and it is the biggest of the 2 surgeries.  She obsesses over it.  It's all I deal with day in and day out.   I feel like a horrible mother and I am embarrassed to even write this.....

UGH!  I feel like such a horrible mom :(

@Michelle1229 I'm sorry you are going through this. Are these feelings new? Was there any particular incident that made the feelings occur that you know of? I ask this because I went through similar things last year after finding out my fiance was giving another woman extra attention because I was falling into depression. After finding out we tried to work things out but secretly he kept in contact with her. During this whole time I never felt like I was enough likely because the attention that he typically gave me was directed toward her. None of this may have anything to do with your situation. Last year alot of people fell into depression. I would love to chat more- privately if you prefer. Big hugs!!
