I recently found out I have stage 4 lung cancer. My oncologist is using Keytruda plus Chemo treatments every three weeks. I have only had 3 treatments so far as I just learned of my cancer 4 months ago. I have one more treatment with both, then he is going to drop the Chemo and continue the Keytruda. He is a young up to date oncologist and was involved in the clinical trials with Keytruda. He strongly believes it is the best course of therapy for lung cancer especially if you have the PD-1 protein they test for. Lung cancer patients with the PD-1 protein respond well to Keytruda according to all the hours of research I have done on it because I want to know what they are doing to me and why. I don't know yet how well it is working as he wants to do a pet scan in a couple months to see how well it has been working. I would like to keep you informed as far as how well it is working because it may be something that could extend your life and something you will need to press your insurance company for. I will up date this with the results of my next PET scan if you would like. I know it is lonely out here with stage 4 lung cancer. We don't have any kind of support groups close that I can physically go to.

Has anyone used this drug to fight lung cancer? Doctors say I can't do radiation or chemo so they want me to start this treatment. Insurance says it won't help so they denied my treatment. Any information would be appreciated thank you Bev
