Hi everyone,

I've had asthma for ages, but I had my first "real" attack 2 days ago.

5 days earlier I started coughing, being out of breath. My doctor had me take my normal medicines and albuterol a bit more often. But it didn't help, it only got worse. When I called him back with difficulty breathing, he told me to go to the emergency room.

At the ER the doctors gave me 3 inhalers, and my lung scan was perfect. I left with Advair 2 times a day and 3 puffs of albuterol 3 times a day. It's been 2 days and I still have breathing difficulties (although much less severe) and chest pains.

How do you all feel after a severe attack? Is what I'm feeling normal? Is there anything I should be doing to feel better?

Thanks!

@knsasmyhme‍ Hi there,

It’s very scary when we can’t breathe..especially now with everything going on..

I have leaned that I have panic attacks which have been making my asthma worse..I learned to do breathing exercises, walking is good..but once our asthma flares up, it takes a while to get back to controlling it..

I removed all carpet from my home, got a air purifier and only use natural cleaning products..

also drinking ginger, peppermint tea is good..get a fern plant, helps us breath better in the home..vacuum your mattress 3x’s a week..

Hope this helps..you will feel better soon..

Kind regards,

Bella
