Type 1 diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is a condition that causes the pancreas to stop producing insulin, a hormone that regulates the amount of sugar in your blood. It works by transferring the sugar from the blood to the cells, where it's converted to energy. When the sugar is not transferred to the cells, the body finds other resources to produce energy, which can cause serious health problems.

I am a type 1 diabetic

Having type 1 diabetes means that you have to monitor your health for the rest of your life. If it is not being treated properly, it can cause serious health problems.

Managing the condition can be very overwhelming, especially for newly diagnosed patients. There might be many thoughts and questions about treatments, management or maybe the monitoring of blood glucose levels that you need answered.

It can be very helpful to talk to other patients about your condition. Not only do they know about treatments and daily life with type 1 diabetes, they also know about the worries that follow and can provide support.

We seek to give you a platform where you can find both support and information that can help you manage your condition and we have customized it to fit your needs. You can follow the day to day development of your diabetes with our health tools and through our surveys you can also give your opinion on treatments, to the benefit of other patients and even the medical industry. And last but not least, you can meet other type 1 diabetes patients and discuss your thoughts with them in a supportive, designated type 1 diabetes forum.
