I try to check my feet every day and keep them moisturized with a cream to avoid cracks. I also wear supportive shoes and make sure any cuts are treated right away. It takes a little routine, but it really helps me catch issues early.
Do others have tips that make daily care easier?

As a wound care physician, I'd add that many diabetic foot wounds start with something that doesn't seem concerning at first—a small blister, callus, or tiny cut. Because diabetes can reduce feeling in the feet, it's easy to miss these early warning signs.
I encourage patients to make a quick foot check part of their daily routine, wear shoes that fit well, and seek medical evaluation if they notice a wound or signs of infection such as redness, swelling, or drainage. A quick daily foot check can help catch small problems before they become more serious.

Hi everyone,
Foot care is one of those things that often get overlooked until something goes wrong. But for people living with type 2 diabetes, it’s a vital part of staying healthy. Small cuts or changes can turn into bigger problems if they’re not caught early.
Whether you do daily checks, use special creams, or have tips from your podiatrist, we’d love to hear how you take care of your feet.
