@Chelsea are experiencing depression? Or just anxiety? What is the difference? I feel depressed and worried about my future because I suffer from systemic conditions and very bad physical/nerve pain.
I too feel like I am not fun anymore for my spouse because I am always in pain. I try and do what I Can, but I have a weird pain issue that is not just systemic conditions, but also mechanical from failed operation.

@abdouglas how is your situation? I hope better now? Do you know what has caused your boyfriend to shut down? Was it something that set it off? or made it worse?

Hi I'm new to this site. I haven't been totally diagnosed yet but I'm positive I have it. Lost my job and insurance before i could find out. Like you i can't leave my house. I'm in bed 80% of the time very depressed .

I have been diagnosed with chronic schizophrenia and it often times has the same effect on me. I live alone with my cat and also have a hard time getting out, neighbors and some friends online have helped me with this a lot and I also make in to church some Sundays. I imagine isolation is the symptom, but the cause in my case may be very different from yours. In my case it is paranoia that keeps me shut in and not simply a lack of desire to leave the house.

Hi everyone. This post had generated much discussion between many members, developing friends, sharing experiences, and providing support; therefore, I am restarting it.
This discussion was created with the purpose of providing a place to come share when you are struggling/need someone to talk to/listen to due to feeling depressed, overwhelmed, stressed out, etc/; to come and provide support, advice, and help others; and to find and make friends!

Hi @babydog10. Sorry to hear about your surgery and not being able to walk. Were you unable to walk before the surgery? or after?
What do you enjoy doing when you feel lonely?

I don't even know what to say. I hate feeling like this. I don't want to die but I don't want to live like this either. I feel so hopeless for my future. I've tried to talk to people but they just brush me off that I'm just being a baby or dramatic. I'm new here and hoping this will help.

Hello Carenity Members,
I have seen in thedepression forums that there are many posts about people needing someone to talk to/listen to and feeling of overwhelemed with life or facing depression for various reason
I have created this discussion group and PINNED it so that it will remain at the top for people to do several things:
1) Those needing someone to talk to, can briefly state what they are struggling with - their situation - and that they would like to talk with someone.
2) Those who would like to listen/talk to someone else, can then private message that user directly and begin a conversation.
or
3) Those who have either overcome their depression to an extent or just really want to help and listen can also comment and say just that - basically offering themselves to be contacted.
I hope this helps open the communication and organize the forum as well. I think peer support is essential, especialy when in our own lives, perhaps we feel blocked out.
As always, there is the general forum for any and all other discussions.
If situation is very bad, please know your life is important and reach out to a medical professional or call Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273-8255
Thank you,
