Hello Carenity Members,

I have seen in thedepression forums that there are many posts about people needing someone to talk to/listen to and feeling of overwhelemed with life or facing depression for various reason

I have created this discussion group and PINNED it so that it will remain at the top for people to do several things:

1) Those needing someone to talk to, can briefly state what they are struggling with - their situation - and that they would like to talk with someone.

2) Those who would like to listen/talk to someone else, can then private message that user directly and begin a conversation.

or

3) Those who have either overcome their depression to an extent or just really want to help and listen can also comment and say just that - basically offering themselves to be contacted.

I hope this helps open the communication and organize the forum as well. I think peer support is essential, especialy when in our own lives, perhaps we feel blocked out.

As always, there is the general forum for any and all other discussions.

If situation is very bad, please know your life is important and reach out to a medical professional or call Crisis Hotline at 1-800-273-8255

Thank you,

Lee__R

Ive always struggled with anxiety, depression, and ptsd but have recently been told by a doctor that im bipolar. I feel like Im losing my mind. It's super hard to feel in control, sometimes I cry, and sometimes I just get so mad. This is the first time I've ever gone on anything like this before so I don't know what to expect. People often mistake me for not feeling, when really it seems like I feel everything. My own emotions and my own brain is slowly driving me crazy it seems like. I dont know, I am just really tired of being alone

Hi everyone,

New to the group.

I have general anxiety,  panic attacks and depression.  And I live at home with mom and sister who have the same conditions.  Which makes it much more difficult to deal with because we're all driving each other crazy.  There are some good days but there have been a lot of bad days since I moved in with them a year ago.

Moving out is not an option.

I'll be starting counseling at the end of June.  The counselors are so busy with counseling other patients.

I try to get up and do things to stay busy,  or go for a walk.

Mom and sister are easily offended . Even when I try to be tactful and gentle,  they often get offended.  It's like walking on eggshells literally.

Mom has major depression.  She has psychotherapy once a week.  I've tried to get her to agree to a joint counseling session but she declined saying that it would cut into her counseling time.

I started taking Wellbutrin a month ago and feeling a bit better. But it feels like I'm trudging through cement sometimes,  since I'm trying to pull myself up from being depressed and yet I have my mom and sister who are depressed.  Mom is more profoundly depressed than my sister.  And my sister is more vulnerable because she has Downs Syndrome,  she is a sweetheart but inherited our family anxiety and depression.  She fortunately bounces back after she has a bad day. But I try to keep her positive with watching her favorite funny videos,  which helps her.  And she dances.  My little angel.

Mom is a good person but she has old patterns that she never broke free from.  I wish I could help her as  she feels badly about herself.  It saddens me.

I think once I start counseling I'll feel better able to handle all this down in the cement pit ,lacking confidence ,and lacking hope that things will get better.

It's amazing how you can love your family but find them difficult to be around sometimes. I know I'm far from perfect and sometimes I know that I cause some of the upsets around here, but I'm trying hard to change my attitude when I notice that I'm irritable. Some days are good,  and those are the days I wonder how come we end up back in the pit again.

Thanks for listening and I'll do my best to be a supportive listener to you all as well.  🤗🤗

This week I’ve been as positive as I can be .. I’ve been noticing all the small things that have been trying to hold me back and keep me in this cycle .. but I feel like I’ve been ignoring it all and finally moving forward into something new
