So, everyone in my office is that happy bubbly personality. Everyone comes in and talks with one another, they laugh, smile. I could not be further from this. I struggle to wake up, I get to work on time but I feel like my smiles at work are forced and fake. Then when I'm there it is a STRUGGLE for me to do anything, I try my hardest to focus, but I just don't care. I used to love my job, so this is new for me.

This funk! I posted about it earlier, but I still haven't pinned it down. Do you think it is sometihng I should bring up to coworkers/my manager/HR? Or is this something I just sit and suffer through? Does anyone else feel this or is this actually a "me" issue?

I'm looking for some kind of validation or direction- really hoping someone can let me know what they think.

Hi @OnionLayers

How are you doing today?

You should know you are not alone! Talking with HR about a chronic illness is sometimes difficult to navigate. While the HR department should be sympathetic to your cause and should not punish you, there is always a margin of uncertainty.

I know your last post didn't get much traction. I will tag some other Carenity members who may be able to share their experiences with you.

@Gramoftwelvekidz @Gurdy1947 @Leon2023 @Razelschlema @Debbie1965 @Rowief @Sleepyhead @Iamplanecrzy @Tyler1 @Joseaq @Lenny13 @Ktroke @Grace2themax @Binkymama @Quiltingmama @lisama @Tades123! @Thgriffin @Linkme @GlassHouse @Earzutill1 @Rusty_zMom09! @306391 @Sparky71 @Caribq @Osovagabundo @Carmie @Mjdoherty76 @Dickamell @NastaH @Deborah0813 @rjcalilli1 @Timrekuc @jmckoy1372 @Cmiller401# @Dawndenn @Shaferjan @Cherib536 @RondaB @Susie22 @SPipal @Utah2023 @Wesnet @Cwilson @Golfergirl08 @BraindeadJohn @Jancee43 @Debbie631 @Pattie0921 @Dwilson4421 @bkroel @Robindare @MTM7716 @Jellybean59 @JDOReed @Little*Dog5 @Angelmeg

Do you tell your work (HR or manager) about your work satisfaction? How did you navigate office situations? Do people ask about your health? What advice can you offer for @OnionLayers?

Take care,

Lizzi from the Carenity team

@OnionLayers Feeling out of sync with the happy and bubbly atmosphere in your office can be challenging, and it's important to acknowledge and address your emotions. While it may feel challenging to engage in the lively atmosphere, try connecting with your coworkers on a personal level. Building relationships and finding common ground can create a more supportive and understanding work environment. You might discover that others have experienced similar feelings or have strategies to share.

Hi OnionLayers. Congrats on coming forth to us. It's a big start! Not only did I disclose my depression but also autism willingly. Wasn't always well received but I was open about it. I'm Peggy first, always will be, but labels happen. Unsure if u are comfortable disclosing to your colleagues, u must decide that. Well wishes.

Thank you both, I did bring it up with my manager. I just thought she needed to know. It was awkward, she didn't really know what to say. She did try to relate to me, so that was nice. So I guess she took it okay. I don't know what I expected her to say, I kind of wanted it to make me feel better, but it didn't
