Hi everyone,

Depression doesn’t only affect your mood or thoughts, it can also deeply impact your relationships and social life.

😞 Fatigue, loss of motivation, or the need to withdraw can make even the simplest interactions feel overwhelming. Sometimes we isolate ourselves without meaning to. And when others don’t understand what we’re going through, it can create distance, frustration, or guilt, on both sides.

Whether it’s friends who stopped checking in, family who doesn’t quite get it, or colleagues who expect more than you can give… the social weight of depression is real.

💬 Has depression changed how you relate to others: friends, family, or coworkers?

🗨️ Do you sometimes feel misunderstood or judged by those around you?

📌 What helps you maintain some connection during the harder times?

You’re not alone if it feels like the social part of life has become more fragile. This space is here so we can talk about it, openly and without shame.

Take care,

Somya from the Carenity team 🌼

Absolutely this is effecting me and my relationships. I have had depression for so long that I have learned to live with it!

As I age I find my world gets smaller and smaller all the time! My faith and family is my focus.

Im becoming the grumpy old man that I said I never want to be.

@kisslamarre Yes, this has certainly affected me and my relationships. I’ve been living with depression for so long that it almost feels like a part of my daily life. As I grow older, I notice my world becoming smaller and more limited. My faith and family remain my main focus, but at times, I feel myself turning into the very grumpy old man I once promised I’d never become.
