Hi everyone 👋

Asthma is often shown in movies and TV through familiar scenes - someone becomes short of breath, reaches for an inhaler, and the moment passes quickly.

But everyone’s experience with asthma can be very different, and these scenes may not always show the full reality of living with the condition.

Do you feel asthma and inhaler use are portrayed realistically in movies and TV?

No not all they take a puff and suddenly fine that’s not how asthma works

@Shortstuff That’s a really good point. TV and movies can sometimes make it look as though one puff of an inhaler means everything is immediately back to normal, when the experience can be much more complicated than that.

Thank you for pointing this out. From your own experience, what do you wish they would show differently about an asthma attack or using an inhaler? It would be interesting to hear what a more realistic portrayal would look like to you. 💙
