Hi @Dr.WhoPeggygmail.com,
Thank you so much for sharing your perspective so openly, it really hits home. It’s true that depression isn’t “just in your head,” it’s often felt in the body, in the energy we don’t have, in the joy that doesn’t come back, and in how daily life feels harder than it should. And you're right, there are so many different forms it can take, each with its own weight on our shoulders. Kindness and consideration are something we could all use more of.
To open it up to others:
Have you ever had someone dismiss or downplay the physical symptoms of your depression?
Or has someone said something that helped you feel truly understood ?

Hi. Thanks for starting question Somya. What ot what not to say to a depression suffer-er. Well, I've suffered it most of my life. Kinda used to derogatory comments. But a big 1 I'd say is don't say it's all in your head ( altho it Is). Yet, it isn't. Depression can have physical symptoms too. Fatigue, less interest in activities, headaches, body aches, etc. Depression can really throw a monkey wrench in daily life! Plus, many types, really: Postpartum, environmental, societal, etc. Mine is seasonal, Fall - Winter. Diff kinds. Be kind to ppl who have any form of depression. Simply considerate. Other thoughts?? Almost Friday. Even I like that
