Hello everyone,

How are you doing?

Having an asthma attack can be incredibly frightening and stressful. Staying calm during an episode is important, as stress and panic can worsen symptoms, making it even harder to breathe.

What techniques help you stay calm during an asthma attack? Do you use specific breathing exercises, visualization, or rely on mindfulness?

I withdraw inward and redirect my thoughts to focus on my nice place. Long and slow deep breaths are essential to achieve. Use my mind to reach a state of “Mind Over Matter”. Once achieved I do what needs to be done. I always remain calm because I have seen others,

Hello @Breathmaster,

Thank you for sharing your approach, it's really powerful and takes a lot of discipline. Do you have any advice on how others might practice this mindset? Your experience could be so helpful for those trying to stay calm during difficult moments.

Take care,

@Somya.P Yes I could say a lot about how I achieve the mindset that you have mentioned. I would like to but I am not feeling well right now. I can get back to you later if you so desire.

Hello @Silbear,

Thank you for sharing! Having an emotional support chihuahua by your side, along with comforting distractions, really makes a difference. Animals can be such a source of peace during difficult moments. Do you find that watching a specific type of show or listening to certain music works best for calming you down?
