A common device used to help manage sleep apnea is the CPAP machine, which stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure. With many different machines on the market... there is a variety in choices.

Which CPAP machine do you use? What are the pros and cons of your CPAP machine?

I use Resmed 11 and Phillips nasal pillow mask with hose connection on top. I travel with Air Mini (Resmed). I like both machines but I wish I could use my Phillips mask with the travel unit. I have severe apnea and when diagnosed was having migraines. Machine has done the trick. I sleep on back and use a CPAP pillow, which I highly recommend purchasing.

I use a resmed 11 and have tried several masks. They all leak from time to time and all this is very annoying. Have tried nasal mask, full face mask and now using hybrid new f 40 mask. Wake up and have to adjust all of them. I use the CPAP every night and try for at least 4 hrs. Not happy being tethered to a machine, not happy when am not sleeping because have to adjust the mask, etc. Wish there was a better solution.

I recently switched from BIPAP to a Respronics ASV machine sort of similar to a BIPAP. It it monitors your every breath if you stop breathing or breath to shallow it gives you an extra boost of air flow to make you breathe again I now have “complex sleep apnea” I cannot even take a nap sitting up or I quit breathing it totally stinks but my apnea numbers are now way down from 20-35 to 0.1-0.5 I feel more rested now and my BP has followed suit from 200s/100s to 130/78 It can take some getting used too but I adapted quickly this may sound weird but I fill my water reservoir with ice at bed time I get cool moist air which helps me fall asleep then the ice turns to water and heater takes over I been doing it for years with my CPAP and BIPAP as well

My original machine had the insulation/sound proofing issue but it was 10yrs old I am using an ASV only compliant is water reservoir is to small like many… very quiet BUT I did have a defective power supply in my BIPAP it would randomly shut off I would wake up from dead sleep starving for air took me awhile to figure that out… what type of machine do you have? Do you have any issues with it?
