A common device used to help manage sleep apnea is the CPAP machine, which stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure. With many different machines on the market... there is a variety in choices.

Which CPAP machine do you use? What are the pros and cons of your CPAP machine?

Res Med Air Sense 10 cpap and Air Curve 10 S  Bipap are my machines of choice to set up my patients with. The machines are very user-friendly and will give the patient a lot of information in the Sleep Report.

@WAHast I understand you dilemma. I have the same problem. I have resorted to eye drops and have found myself drinking more water during the night. I have tried to stop eating late at night to avoid dry mouth,

I have used the Dream Station C-Pap then was changed to the Dream Station Bi-Pap and now I am on the Trilogy 100 machine.  All three worked, however, I am retaining CO2 and have been placed on the Trilogy.  I am  not sure how it is working as I have only been on it for a month.  The right mask fit is the most important thing I have found to use any of these machines.

I use a Dream Station bi pap. It is very noisy and the reservoir does not hold enough water. I use a Fisher Paykal vitara full face mask. I can't ever get it it tight enough to stop flapping. It wakes me up constantly. I have to used pads to keep the strap from cutting into my neck. It's been a night mare to get uninterrupted sleep.

Hello, I have sleep apnea since a recent heavy weight gain, I have to sleep with a device now and I want to be sure that the doctor prescribes me the right device. What are your brands and references of mask for the night? Which machine is the most effective? Is it expensive?

I have the Phillips Dreamstation. Mine is on the recall. I could have it replaced if the doctor would just tell the provider which one to replace it with. The doctor will not do that. They said it was not their place to decide which machine I should be given. I have also tried many masks and can’t find one that works well. The nasal pillow one works best. Even with readings under 3.9 I still have severe episodes of fatigue, etc, like I was having without CPAP. I worry about using my zCPAP machine since it is on the recall. I am also concerned that the diagnosis of very mild sleep apnea is not the cause for my issues. No one will take me seriously when I tell them how I feel.

I have the ResMed Airsense10 for over 6 years; no issues with it; I use the nose pillars; dont like the mask and all the straps; with the nose pillar the tube connection is at the top of your head and the tube hangs behind you letting you toss and turn with no tube distracting you.
