Hello everyone,

I hope you're doing well. emoticon bashful

This group contains many different types of cancer. Though you may have different forms of cancer, I think there is somewhat of a shared experience across cancer types in this forum.

Let's hear about you and your story! What kind of cancer do or did you have? How were you diagnosed? How are you doing now?

Feel free to share you story, your experiences, your advice, and support here!

Hello,

I am new to this sight. I have been diagnosed with a slow growing type of brain and spinal cancer. This has progressed for approximately 30 years and took as long to find. Many health conditions derives from what I have both mental and physical. It is untreatable and inoperable. I came here for anyone to talk to.

@lillie Have you heard of CAR T-Cell therapy? I heard about it on the Show The Doctors. I have since read some about it. There are very effective results. I hope this is something you find helpful and possibly discuss with your doctors.

Yes I have I just had auto stem cell transplant on the 8th of June. I'm still in the recovery process and I have to have all childhood shots in 100 days. I feel wonderful and I am feeling better now.

My husband was diagnosed with cancer July 31, 2020 after experiencing severe shortness of breath when he woke up that morning. No prior symptoms that were noticed.  He was told it was stage 4 lung cancer and had less than a year.  Since then, he has had  3 additional biopsies and 4 new diagnosis.  Starting with lymphoma, mesothelioma, paraganglioma and yesterday the latest diagnosis of mediastinal neuroendocrine cancer (from MD Anderson and NIH). We now feel we have the correct diagnosis.  We are covered by a large HMO insurance company.  We paid out of pocket for 3 - 2nd opinions (fortunately using the biopsies from our HMO - Which saved us considerable amount of money).  I feel like I have whiplash and hope that his previous treatments have not caused him harm.  We have an appointment with his HMO Oncologist next week.  He is unaware that we went to MD Anderson for a 2nd opinion and we expect pushback from him.  Taking a fork in the road on this cancer journey.

@Lclimer

HELLO

I haven't been on here in a while but I want to thank you for the CAR T CELL therapy info. I actually forget when I went to the Doctor..  I am going this month and I wrote it down to remember to inquire.   How are you doing? God bless you and have a Happy Holiday season?

@debrec#aol.com I went through the needle biopsy. They numb you. You will feel when they get the sample but its not that bad. If you have a choice take radiation!

Hi I have rectal cancer. The doctors are being very positive, but I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop with bad news. I cry everyday. Currently I’m doing radiation and chemo and then surgery.
