Hello everyone,

I hope you're doing well. emoticon bashful

This group contains many different types of cancer. Though you may have different forms of cancer, I think there is somewhat of a shared experience across cancer types in this forum.

Let's hear about you and your story! What kind of cancer do or did you have? How were you diagnosed? How are you doing now?

Feel free to share you story, your experiences, your advice, and support here!

Hi, doing well, just had my last tencentric infusion last Friday the 17th of September. Have a CT in Oct to see if there is any cancer left from my oplast Dec. Last Pet scan , no cancer. Doctors tell me I am a miracle, they have no answer why I am all clear now. PRAYER that's the answer. Hope that everyone is doing well.

I was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma Stage 3C, in July 2017 after having two months ago small mole removed from my arm. I have had a wide excisional biopsy on the arm to remove the rest of the cancer cells but they found them in my lymph nodes when they did a biopsy there. I had a year of immunotherapy with some side affects but all were manageable, so I was very lucky. My last scans have been no evidence of disease. I am a retired chemotherapy nurse so I know my journey was not as bad as it could have been. But I also know that it can rear its ugly head again. My experience in oncology had taught me to take each day one at a time and enjoy every minute of it. This year has put a lot of challenges in front of all of us. Stay safe. Be strong.

I had what felt like appendicitis. No other symptoms. To ER. Surgeon said "appendix tumor." Took it out. Surgeon told me "we got it all" and said he also took out 28 lymph nodes & 1/3 of my intestine near the appendix "to be sure it won't affect your bowel."   Went to cancer clinic. That doctor said "This is curable." My husband & I asked "Do you mean remission?"  He said "No, it will be cured by Spring" (this was November). Was supposed to have my LAST visit to the clinic 2 weeks ago: see doctor, get labs done, last IV of chemo. Instead, the doctor's PA told me it is Stage III colon cancer, not appendix cancer. And that I will need to be Closely monitored for 5 years.
I have Severe PTSD which causes panic attacks any time I go to a doctor, clinic, see a nurse, go to hospital etc.
PTSD caused by: doctors gave me an "innovative" treatment as a baby. It was banned by the FDA the next year. It caused life-long seizures (3 types). Then my sister died age 38. she was wealthy & could afford "the best" doctors. All told her "you are stressed. Quit your job and be a Mommy." It was cancer. She died 8 months after Finally getting the right diagnosis. I was give a high dose of depakote for seizures. That damaged my liver. So I get PTSD panic attacks every time I go to the clinic. I DO NOT want five more years of this sheer HELL. Not sleeping 3-5 nights before each clinic visit. Shaking with fear the entire time (3-4 hours)
I am probably going to refuse any more treatment since I feel 100 times Worse seeing doctors than not seeing them. And being told the Polar opposite of what the oncologist said by his PA (it's not a cure, you'll be coming here for 5 years if you live that long.) I feel Lied to by the doctor. Really angry

49 yo female newly 6/30 diagnosed with atypical carcinoid cancer in my lung and liver. Scared to death. Even though I have a great support system I feel totally alone and angry. I have always tried to do the right things, stay active and now this.  If anyone here has and is going through Neuro endocrine treatments I would to talk
