I have med controlled heart failure, med controlled stomach problems, med controlled osteoporosis, and the biggie, end-stage emphysema. Emphysema meds have evolved over the years, and the nebulizer albuterol plus fairly recent Trelegy, which seem to have slowed or stopped the further lung deterioration. I'm home-bound, but feel good now. I'm happy with my current meds status.

I finally meet somebody who is taking Trelegy. I see on commercials all the time and wondered if it works.

Spiriva has been a lifesaver for my COPD, both emphysema and bronchitis diagnosed 8 years ago. I was first prescribed Symbicort by my primary care physician and I had a severe allergic reaction - I couldn't breathe - and my husband rushed me to the ER which is only 5 minutes away, much faster than waiting for an ambulance. They administered oxygen despite the fact that my husband told them that pure oxygen makes me vomit - and I vomited right into the oxygen mask as predicted. Talk about a mess that they had to clean up! In the meantime it took so much time to finally administer a medication to alleviate the allergic reaction that I went into anaphylactic shock. I would have died if it weren't for the Critical Care specialist, who is also a pulmonologist, who was called by the ER physician to administer treatment. He administered Spiriva and I've been taking it ever since.

@uncleanatol I take Spriva too. It's extremely expensive too😰 I pay $ 30.00 per month and that is Kaiser Insurance Copay.

@uncleanatol That was quite experience never to be forgotten. I definitely can relate to this experience. I was rushed to ER twice by ambulance because I couldn't breathe too. Thanks for sharing that very scary time of your life, but you pulled though.

I am taking Tysabri via IV infusion every four weeks. When My Neurologist started me on this in 2017 because by the time I was finally referred to him I was already moderate to sever MS. He stated he could go back into my medical records and see I should have been diagnosis back in 2014. I just kept being over looked and my complaint were not being address properly. So he started me on a strong medication because when he got me he needed to figure out if I had an form of MS that was aggressive or I just diagnosed last and had it for a while now without medication. Since 2017 I have been able to get back on my feet and still walk around. I am doing better but I have notice some new changes recently. I have been going through an unexpected very stressful point in my-life. So I am not sure if it is being caused by the stress or the MS. I know my MRI is good and my blood draws have been good. My memory is getting worse but so has my ability to sleep. I go to bed late and I have a hard time staying asleep. When I wake up through the night I have a hard time going back to sleep. I do have sleep apnea and am on a c-pap. Still having trouble. My therapist just started me gone Trazodone 50mg to help. I have only taken it a few times. So not sure how thing will be in a few weeks. Maybe I will finally have a good sleep pattern started.

Trelegy improved my emphysema condition immensely, but when I still experienced a flare-up, old standby Prednisone quickly brought it under control.

@dunecitymike thank you for sharing that I am now going to look into Trelegy. I love Prednisone, but I heard it is bad on the organs ;

After having COVID-19 three times, I'm finally getting over it, long covid is very real, After seeing many doctors I was put on a old antidepressant Prozac and for breathing problems I'm on Symbicort. Three months ago I couldn't walk a 100 yards with out sitting down, now I can go a mile.
Every day I feel a little bit better, I am 64 so things just take a little longer.

Clonodine has completely changed my levels of anxiety. Along with all the other meds I take I can now function in society.

If I didn't have Advair disk inhaler AKA WixeIa would be in the hospital. The first 15 years Advair had a patent on it , and I had overpay for it! Big time. VERY unfair for middle class person.
