Hello everyone,
How are you today?
I thought I'd open this discussion so that we can talk about our medications!
What do you think of your medication? Has it helped improve your condition? How long did it take you to find the right prescription? Have you had to switch medicines over time? Have you had any side effects?
Feel free to share here!
Take care,
Courtney

@Courtney_J I'm satisfied with my medications for now. I'm on a few things for rheumatoid arthritis and it was definitely a journey to find the right combination and doses. I was lucky and only had light side effects that eventually went away. I know I'm lucky because I know for some people with other conditions it can take years to find the right medicine.

@Courtney_J I am currently happy with the way my medications are working for me. It did take trying several different meds to finally hit the right ones. I only pray they continue to work for me. The problem I have is that big pharmaceutical companies don’t want to cure anything otherwise the will not make money. They only allow cures very slowly.

I've been on medication for my depression and anxiety ever since I was 20 years old. Imipramine worked, but it caused me to gain an enormous amount of weight. Clonazepam worked, but it was found to contribute to dementia. Thus, I've been trying new drugs (over 30) that don't work for years. I just started on Viibryd three days ago. At this point, I feel my Dr. just throws any and every drug at me, without even considering the side effects or decrease of my intelligence by being dumbed down. At age 58, I am highly frustrated and often feel like giving up.

I have been on over 20 different med combinations, it's been a very very rough trial. I don't know how I'm still here, current combination is still in its honeymoon phase so we will see. Each time I hope so much it will help even a little.

Since I’m PPMS and have had some intense side effects from meds I’ve decided along w/my team to no longer take meds and now an arsenal of minerals/vitamins. Doing stable without side effects and no better or worse. This disease is bad enough and having to deal with side effects that are horrible none of us need.

Swede - Illnesses that I am dealing with are COPD - Depression - I am on a relatively new anti-depression medication within last six months have had the dose increased by my Psychiatrist cause the medication does not resolve some of the emotional pain that is prevelant . I am hopeful that this increase will be helpful.
