I have been a pre diabetic for years and am now type 2 my blood sugar spiked to 180 and I have double vision, my Dr. put me on metformin 500 mg 2 times a day and is hoping my eyes problems correct and my BS lowers. i have never had eye problems before and am wondering if any others have had the same problems and if they corrected once the BS levels lowered to normal range

Hi @yardhound blood sugar - high or low - has the capability to cause vision issues . I am not sure about the permanence of it... I think each case is different and depends on the damage to your eye. Good news if you are pre-diabetic, then hopefully you have not had to many bouts where your blood sugar has been out of control.
Did your doctor seem to think the metaformin would correct the problem?
I do remember seeing others talk about vision issues related to diabetes in the discussions, so maybe browse through or search the forums for "double vision"
