Hello everyone, how are you doing? 😊

With winter upon us, many people notice changes in their diabetes management. Cold weather can have a surprising impact on blood sugar levels and insulin sensitivity, which may require adjustments to your routine. For some, the cold makes them crave more carbs or comfort foods, while others notice that they experience more fluctuations in their blood sugar. ❄️

Have you noticed that cold weather affects your type 2 diabetes? Does winter make you crave more carbs, or do you feel your insulin sensitivity changes with the drop in temperature?

I tend to be more insulin resistant in the winter, so have to adjust my insulin accordingly.

Also, if you use a meter to check your sugars, make sure it stays in a warm place, if it gets too cold it may be inaccurate or stop working all together.

This question brings up an interesting topic [This content has been moderated by an administrator] winter changes the body map of a diabetic: it becomes more sensitive, more volatile, and requires you to be more careful with your diet and insulin. The cravings for carbs and the fluctuations in blood sugar are like being thrown into a new level – only by understanding the rules can you overcome them without hitting a wall.
