Hi Somya. Nice hearing from u. And for new question. Myself, I've taken all antidepressants from Prozac forward. "Fun" taking pills rest of life 🙃. My primary complaint is dry mouth. I chew gum to my dentist's disapproval. Have TMJ while I'm at it. Sleep has become more of an issue as I've gotten older, apnea. Drowsiness & exhaustion is daily occurrence. Not pleasant way to spend time. Partly explaining that sometimes those meds can cause sleep disturbances. What are others experiences?

I struggle with the weight gain. I refuse to take any of the GPL1 because I take enough medications.

I was wondering if anyone had been prescribed Zyprexia for depression and if so, what was their experience with it? I was taking fluoxetine (Prozac) for many years. Then it became to activating for me and made me very anxious. My doctor has tried to give me Zyprexia, but I refused to take it. He stated that "he didn't care if I was even throwing up in the toilet every night, but I had to take it for a month." I called the office back after I got home and told them not to bother sending the scrpt to the pharmacy because I was not going to take it and I was going to seek another provider. I still am not sure who was right, but this medication just felt really wrong for me. Anybody have any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks so much

Hi everyone,
How are you holding up today?
Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are one of the most common treatments for depression. They can be incredibly helpful for many, but they can also come with side effects that don’t always get talked about enough.
Some people report physical side effects like nausea, headaches, weight gain or sexual side effects. Others notice emotional changes, like feeling “numb,” flat, or disconnected. And for some, the medication just doesn’t seem to help at all.
💬 Have you tried SSRIs?
📌 What side effects (if any) did you experience?
💡 Were there any coping strategies or adjustments that helped?

We’d love to hear your thoughts, whether you’re currently taking SSRIs, have taken them in the past, or are just trying to figure out if they’re right for you.
There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with. Every comment helps others feel seen and less alone.
Take care,
