Hello members,

Rheumatoid Arthritis can impact many areas of one's life and one of those is their employment.

Are you currently working? What is your job title and what does a typical day look like?

Does RA affect your ability to perform your job tasks? Have you made any modifications?

I ended up having to quite my full time job because the fatigue was just overpowering me and the stress really didn't help my pain. I had a hard time accepting that fact, but now I can do more freelance or temp gigs that are better off for my physical and mental health in the long run.

When I first started having symptoms, I was working a simple third shift job.  It was a job through a temp agency. Unfortunately due to the fatigue, pain, and uncertainty in regards to my abilities, I had to voluntarily leave the position.  At the time, we weren’t sure what was going on or when or if my condition would improve.

I am no longer able to work because of the rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, degenerative disc disease and perifiral neuropathy. The pain and fatigue are just too much... I can't stand for more than 10 minutes at a time.
