Hi everyone, I haven't been on in a while since I've been so wrapped up in the coronavirus stuff. If you don't already know, I struggle with my weight and have done for a long time, it's the reason I developed diabetes. Officially I'm obese. I have a really difficult time exercising, it's almost impossible for me because I can't move well and it puts a lot of strain on my joint. I've been seriously considering getting bariatric surgery (lap band specifically) to help me get a start on losing weight. I feel like if I can get myself to a state where I can exercise better I'll be able to get a better handle on my health.

What do you all think? Have any of you done it? I've heard that sometimes it doesn't work, but I've also heard that it does and that it can help get you into remission. I'd really appreciate your advice or experiences if you have any!

@clarence1954 Hello clarence1954, thank you for starting this discussion. Let me tag some members who may have some information on this.

Hello members, I hope you don't mind that I've tagged you. Have you heard about bariatric surgery and it's effectiveness for weight loss and diabetes? Do you know anyone who has done it or have you thought about it for yourself? Feel free to share here!
