Has anyone failed all the Biologics then returned to oral meds like Lialda or Asacol with success? Did your Dr advise you that you cannot go back after the Biologics?

Hmm... interesting @Twiggi‍. I never heard of that.

What is the reasoning your Dr. said you cannot go back to biologics?

And if the biologics are not working, what are you thoughts about going back? What symptoms/reactions is the biologics giving you?

There is a biologic Stelara that I recently found out about. Have you heard of it?

@cronky1!‍ ~I have been on ALL the Biologics except Stelara. Mostly, they have caused “med induced Lupus syndrome”. I actually fought side effects throughout the treatments. It’s now been over a year since I stopped all meds~took a break~allowing my body to recoup~drastically changed my diet~All “my” choice. The results have been VERY encouraging. No significant flares, some symptoms which I blame on significant stress I experienced. I I have not been able to find the answers to not being able to go back to oral meds...I plan to pin down my Gastro (who is GREAT!) as to why next visit. I guess I’m just thinking that I don’t want to use the last biologic available to me UNTIL I absolutely NEED it! l am taking my diet MUCH more seriously since I have seen changes w/out medication! I am reading an interesting book UnDiet by Meghan Telpner which is inspiring me to continue on this path. :)

@Twiggi I am glad your results from diet and allowing your body to recoup have been great.

When you say you have stopped all meds, you mean all pharmaceuticals or are you speaking only to biologics? If all meds, what is your thought process on needing to go back to medications?

Interesting book also. I am wondering, because is it through your diet alone that you have have been able to control your symptoms? Even with medications, my symptoms (diarrhea, pain...) still flare up, so I am interested in knowing more about your results.
