I started this account right after my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. My husband also had neuroendocrine tumors .

My coworker passed away from prostate cancer at the beginning of 2023. And now, my best friend was just diagnosed with lung cancer.

Why is everyone around me getting cancer? I'm getting emotionally drained from this disease and I'm not even the one who is sick. Is this is case for anyone else?

Hi @CLE1974

How are you doing today?

I am sorry to hear about all the diagnosis of the people close to you. It does feel like everyone knows someone with cancer these days. Let me ask the rest of the Carenity community if they feel this way too.

@Hrdavis74 @Gwynne75 @Sageswan @nataliemichellesullivan @Anderso7 @Losangelesgirl @Dree1979 @lcmartin @walters291 @Firefly77 @Marymc72 @Sully57 @Deeann @1Deaconanne @Jomaryngs @JenniferReyes21 @Sdbonnett @warreaper320 @Candi147 @020799 @Alakazamgie @Gingergirl @Ann6415 @kathyW @Deboharry @Kimmy2021 @Maksims @danielleu @Ncgirl @ptomlinson @KHooper @margate7460 @Anita62 @carmen @Mariem63 @Cloister @Rachelle @KgolaSekee @MarieCarmack @Talchavez @Bree73

How many people do you know who have been diagnosed with cancer? Do you think pre-screening and preventative checks are one reason why more people seemed to be diagnosed? How do you emotionally manage this kind of news? Is it something you are able to talk about or do you struggle because of heavy emotions? What advice would you offer?

Share your observations.

Take care,

Lizzi from the Carenity team
