@Classycathy Absolutely! Try the cannabis pens. The come in Sativa (energetic high), Indica (a mellow and relaxing high) or blends. You can read on the box to see what the strain type is so you don’t grab the wrong one. I use Indica during my manic episodes. While it doesn’t completely rid me of the mania, but it definitely helps and gives me some relief. I believe you can buy them online. Our friends usually have them on hand so we get ours that way. Good luck!🍀

I tried it and it made me hyper. I couldn’t stop giggling or talking. Then I’d forget what I was saying mid-sentence. Also, one time I was in the car and felt like I wanted to jump out of the car or grab steering wheel. I told my husband because I didn’t trust myself. He had to put me in back & enable the child locks. But as mentioned previously, everyone is different.

I haven't tried cannabis for bi polar.  If given the opportunity,   I would definitely try it!!  I'm sure the side effects are very minimal compared to the manufactured drugs.

@Courtney_J

Yes, I believe cannabis can work. There are two types: Sativa and Indica. The Sativa strains give you more of an energetic high where the Indica strains give you a more mellow, relaxed high. If I am  are having a manic  episode, I’ve used Indica strain to help. Now this does not (or hasn’t for me at least) completely get my manic episode to go away completely, but it helps bring me down. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced relief from cannabis, but I think it’s worth a try.

Has this helped anyone else?

@Deniseh62316 you may have had a Sativa strain and not an Indica Strain. The Sativas make you feel more up and even hyper and could make your episodes worse. However of you can get your hands on an Indica Strain, it make me feel more mellow and relaxed and really helps my manic episodes. Of course everyone is different but if you are dealing with a manic episode I’d give an Indica a try. You can get those in the cannabis pens that will tell you on the packaging if it’s Sativa, Indica, or a blend.

@joybeth Try the cannabis pens. It says on the box if it is a Sativa, an Indica, or a blend. For manic bipolar episodes, use the Indica. It is a mellow, calming high as opposed to Sativa which is a more energetic high. The Indica pens help me a lot. Good luck!! 🍀

I've been using cannabis 3 years now but always India. Definitely NO SATIVA! DON'T WANT THAT MANIC. Great for mellowing out in the evening...🌬😌🧘‍♀️

Hello. I live in North Carolina and I suffer from a nervous breakdown. I have a medical marijuana card and often use the weed as prescribed by a doctor. It helps quite effectively. But now I'm not having the best of times and I don't have much money to buy weed. Yesterday I read this article and thought about buying seeds for growing medical cannabis. Ultimately, this is just for me. How do you think I can save on this?
