Hi friends from a country far away emoticon island I would like to ask people who suffer from bipolar disorder how they succeed in bearing loneliness, that, unfortunately, is a characteristic of our disease. Thank you

I am a supervisor at my work at an Assisted Living Facility. I supervise 11 employees. I’m at work 8-13 hours a day. And yet I’m lonely. I’ve been married 12 years this time (20 the first time) and yet I’m lonely. I really have no friends outside of work. My husband is my best friend. Although he is beyond supportive of my Bipolar...it’s not the same. No one at work knows I’m bipolar.

I am diagnosed bipolar and I've noticed I connect/attach to people Platonically or romantically too quickly yet i lack trust and self sabotage the relationship.  I don't mean to but can not seem to ever stop it or avoid it.

@MartiES‍ ‍ I know exactly how you feel. I really don't have any good relationships. Not even with family. I get into relationships which always turn out to be toxic. I always find people that use me as a doormat. I think I trust too much. I usually don't end the relationships I try to get them to get mad at me so they end it. I really don't know what to do. I'm also am borderline personality which one of the things is trouble with relationships.

When the weekend comes this is when I'm the loneliness. My niece just had a baby girl. I want to see her soo bad.  The one thing that really bothers me is that nobody ever calls me. In my head I really think they are not thinking about me. I'm just giving up on them. They say they really care and love me but action speak louder then words to me.

@magicpamela I feel lonely all the time even though I'm rarely actually physically alone.  I have family with me, but I think the loneliness comes from not having anyone near who understands me and my disorder.  I live in a very isolated area of the country, so hooray for the internet!

@magicpamela Yes I do all the time.  I feel like so alien in around them because I feel so alone in a crowded room.  Like nothing can fill my heart ❤

I'm new here and have bipolar, GAD, PTSD, chronic fatigue disorder, - I feel like I'm missing something and I probably am 🤣

I have severe social anxiety (my GAD), and although I have ' friends' from church, I don't have a close friend, or any friends I can just call when I need someone to talk to and vent. And doesn't everyone need that? I feel lame. I'm 39, almost 40 and don't even have someone to call and talk to when I need someone. My anxiety mostly, has isolated me from everyone but my husband and 17 year old daughter. And most of the time when I'm emotional he wants to know if I'm taking my meds (so annoying) and my daughter is 17 so obviously she wants nothing to do with me at this stage in her life. I'm so alone it hurts. I would love a pen pal. Desperately. One that needs it as much as me because I want to be able to rely on them and them on me. Anyone?
