Hello everyone,
How are you today?
Summer is officially here and vacation is quickly approaching! Whether you plan to go to the mountains or the beach, it's important that you be careful and aware of the sun
By protecting yourself, you avoid sunburn, aging of the skin and skin cancer, while also preserving the benefits of exposure to the sun.
So what do you do to protect yourself? What do you use as sun protection and clothing (hat, sunglasses, etc.)?
Tell us all about it! We're all here to share our experiences and advice!
Take care and enjoy the sunshine,
Courtney

@Courtney_J My husband and I usually take a week or two of summer vacation somewhere warm like Florida or South Carolina, but with my UC I'm very cautious in the sun. On the beach I tend to wear a long-sleeved swimming top and a big hat. And always SPF 50 minimum. Some of the medications I take can make me photosensitive so I'm very careful.

I try to stay out of the sun as much as I can because it can inflame my PA. But if I do want to get out there a bit when on vacation I wear a swim shirt.

I won't have to worry about the sun this year, because there is nowhere to go. We can't go to the beach, we can't go on vacation because the hotels are closed and we can't visit our relatives because they are old and don't want any visitors.

I have kind of the same situation as other people have said, I take a few medications that make me more sensitive to the sun so I have to be careful. I stay in the shade where I can and use SPF 30 minimum when I know I'm going to be out in the sun. But like @wreed61499 said, this year is a bit different, my family canceled our vacation. There was no way we wanted to be on a plane or far from home in all of this. With the numbers climbing every day we thought it'd be safer to postpone. So our vacation will be in our backyard this year.

I enjoy the sun. It feels good to me but I have found that just the sun hitting my skin is bad for my ms problems. What cooling vest do y o recommend?

I use my sunscreen. I have to watch it as I have some dermatology issues and that med makes it easy to burn. A hat and my big old maple tree
