Hello Carenity members,

I would to open up a topic for discussion regarding Injection Pens for control and treatment of diabetes</strong.

+ Are you an adult diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes?

+ Do you have experience using an injection pen in treating your diabetes?

+ If yes, what has been your results from using the injection pen? At what time of day do you use the pen?

+ If not, would you be interested in knowing more about how such a pen can possibly aid in treatment/control of your diabetes?

Carenity is piloting a questionnaire for a new injection pen. If you are an adult diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, whether you have experience with an injection pen or not, we encourage you to participate in this preliminary survey by Clicking Here.

Your participation will help us ensure that the survey questions and instructions are clear and understandable and will assist Carenity in designing a final version of the questionnaire.

(This survey is limited to only those diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, but we encourage Caregivers to participate in this discussion.)

Thank you,

Lee__R

Interesting! Will take part. I do not use an insulin pen at the moment, however. But always looking to contribute!

when I was dxd, I was in the hospital with a serious problem not related t diabetes.  But in the hospital, everyone gets insulin.  So when I was released, it was with an insulin prescription.  The pharmacist told me to ask for an insulin pen.  It was so much easier!  Just dial the correct dose and inject.  The needle was so small. I didn't feel it..  Now I use a weekly injectable and the needle is considerably larger.

I use an injection pen. I've lost a lot of weight so I use the shortest pen needle that you can get. I find this works best for me. Taking injections are fast and easy. I started out with injection needles and a vial of insulin. Because of the length of the needles I acquired a phobia about taking my injections. It led to not taking injections when I was supposed to and some trips to the hospital. Diabetic Keto Acidosis is very scary and dangerous. If I didn't have someone with me I would have gone into a coma. The Kwik Pen has been a God send for me. I just make sure to check my glucose after I eat and then take my shot. I've taken injections prior to eating before and my glucose level went so low I once passed out. Just don't do that..

I use insulin pens! I use Novolog as my short acting and Lantus as my long acting. When I was first prescribed my insulin it was supposed to be vials, but due to the pharmacy not having the needed vials they offered me pens which I said was fine.(I had used both for my daughter prior) The pharmacy contacted the doctor for the proper prescriptions and I have never charged to vials. Vials are too easy to break and then you can't get rid of the smell so I feel pens are so much better.

I’m an adult with type 2 diabetes, and I've had experience using an injection pen as part of my treatment. Injection pens, like those used for insulin or GLP-1 receptor agonists (such as Ozempic or Trulicity), can be a game-changer for managing blood sugar levels. They’re generally easier to use compared to traditional syringes, and the dosing is more precise, which can be really helpful for maintaining stable blood sugar levels throughout the day.
