Hello everyone 🌟

In the US, there’s been a big shift in how Type 2 diabetes is treated. Medications like GLP-1 receptor agonists and SGLT2 inhibitors are being prescribed earlier β€” not just to manage blood sugar, but also to support ❀️ heart health and weight management.

For some people, this feels like progress. For others, it can feel like a lot to take in.

πŸ’¬ We’d love to hear your experience:

  • Have you been prescribed newer medications (like Ozempic, Jardiance, etc.)?
  • Did your doctor suggest them earlier than you expected?
  • How do you feel about starting medication sooner vs trying lifestyle changes first?

πŸ‘‡ Share your story β€” it could really help others navigating similar choices.

Hey Somya and everyone! 😊

I was recently prescribed a GLP-1 medication, and at first it felt a bit overwhelming starting it so soon. But my doctor explained the heart and weight benefits, which made me feel more comfortable. I still focus on diet and exercise too, but having the medication early has been reassuring. Has anyone else felt nervous starting these newer treatments?
