Hello everyone,
How are you today? 😊
Regular screenings and early detection are crucial for men's health, especially when it comes to prostate and testicular cancer.
The American Cancer Society suggests that starting at age 50, men should discuss with their healthcare provider whether to have a prostate cancer detecting blood test and how often to repeat it. If you are at higher risk, such as having a family history of prostate cancer or being of African or African-Caribbean descent, this discussion may begin at age 45.
Regular self-exams for testicular cancer are encouraged throughout a man's lifetime, as testicular cancer can affect men of all ages. Be aware of your testicles' normal size, shape, and consistency. If you notice any unusual lumps, swelling, or pain in the testicles, seek medical attention promptly. If you have a family history of testicular cancer or other risk factors, you may discuss screening with your GP.
When was the last time you got tested or screened for these cancers? Have you performed a self-exam lately?
