Feeling heartbreak and overwhelmed as my husband has MS - anyone?

I can personaly understand what you are feeling my husband was just diagnosed and its not only been hard on him but on me. 

I've been recently diagnosed with ms a month ago. I've been extremely sick for over a year and when it came apparent that I was not getting better, my husband of 16 years decided that he didn't want to fight with me. My daughters, 13 and 11, are my caregivers and my friends. I know it must also be extremely difficult to be on the other end of this. You and your husband have my support and prayers! 🧡

@April79 my husband was the same way he was diagnosed about a month ago doctors would do test on him and all they kept saying he had arthritis until i decided to take him somewhere else he been like this for 2 yrs finally told him he has MS.  Its been hard on him since he was a very active person and was my caregiver because im disabled myself i have CP so now our caregiver is my 21 yr old daughter lucky my CP just affects my legs and im very independent and are able to still move around and go with him to his appointments. So basically now we are eachother encouragement to keep on going but more we have a 1 yr grandson that i tell him he needs to see grow and play with 😊..glad you are not alone and u have ur daughters and friends to help u..its very important to have a good support system and what better support then your girls..god bless them. Its not easy but stay strong

@April79 I feel like my husband of 4 years has been supportive and there for me when I am hospitalized but last night he made a comment in front of friends that he made me feel like he doesn't believe my symptoms. I now feel in a tailspin. I feel like that must be how he really feels and I don't know how to handle it. Do you have any advice or how did you know it was over? 

@jennawillis89 i wish i was more helpful! I'm still dealing with it. I totally understand what you're going through. My husband joined an organization and became completely obsessed with it. He does nothing else but his group things. I guess the weekend he decided to go camping when I was going to er finally did it for me. I had to ask a friend to take me and when i returned home he was sleeping. Didn't even ask how i was. But currently, i have nowhere to go so we live together. We are getting along at the moment. But nothing has changed. One of my best friends is an attorney! Wishing luck to us both! Haha!

It is hard, not only on those living with MS but on our loved ones for sure. To all caretakers, you are appreciate and I hope you feel that way on days you're feeling overwhelmed. 

@jennawillis89 I think it would be helpful to let your husband know the comment he made was uncomfortable for you or tell him how you are feeling. Communication is important in a marriage but more so when someone is battling with MS or another illness. This is from my own experience. my partner was at first really hard to deal with, i mean i was hard to deal with myself and i admit that but i felt really unsupported. we sought couples therapy and have worked to communicate better through this whole situation. it has helped us a great deal.
