I commented before saying I'm not worried. What I mean to say is that I have concerns and I try to follow all the guidelines around the covid-19 outbreak, I'm just saying so many of the guidelines are the same as or close to those when you are living with HIV and for that part it makes it easier to accept since I have to follow many of the guidelines since I was diagnosed in 2009. And the stigma I felt and still feel makes me and made me want to self isolate

Most of the questions I had have been answered in the link below. If your CD4 count is good we don't really differ from the rest of the population. So take your meds, try to stay healthy. The anxiety of it will only make us weaker. I know easier said than done but try and stay positive - no pun intended.

@deuxlapin Thanks for this, that really helps reassure me. Has anyone seen the stories in the news about PrEP being used to treat COVID in like Russia or something? I've been trying not to read or follow the news for my own sanity, but I've got a few friends who are worried that there's going to be a shortage because of it.

Yikes I've just been diagnosed and I'm low-key (more like high-key honestly) freaking out on all fronts. This is all so overwhelming between having fxhdng HIV and then a WORLD HEALTH CRISIS ! How are you all staying sane???

@fairy_ hey! I was also diagnosed at the beginning of the outbreak in US with very low CD4 count. I’m still under 200 but at least I’m making progress. It is very scary that’s for sure but if your CD4 count is more than 200 and you start your ARV treatment right away you don’t have to really worry, no more than HIV negative people. Of course you should take extra precautions regardless but yeah, just wanted to say that I’m going through the exact same situation. Stay strong

@hivver I just spoke with our clinic infectious disease doctor about this. He stated that here in US, there is nothing supporting the use of Prep drugs to treat COVID19. The virus just isn't reacting to many of the drugs as hoped. So we should not be concerned of a medication shortage. That being said, I had heard that Dovato was being back ordered (possibly due to COVID panic) from some of my local pharmacies. But it appears to have just been temporary. I myself am on Dovato, and not having trouble with getting it.

I honestly wish the President would just stop promoting drugs that have not been in any clinical trial whatsoever and are as a matter of fact getting people sicker. I hate being political here but I just can't.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Are your states opened back up for business yet? How are you all handling "reintroduction" back into society as I guess we could call it?

I listen very carefully to Dr. Fauci he knows his beans and if he says distance than it's distance.

Hi all,
I thought I would come on here to see how everyone is doing in this difficult time. As we all may have varying CD4 counts and so may be at different levels of vulnerability, I think it's important that we come together as a community to support each other and give advice.
How are you feeling? Are you staying sane will social distancing?
Wishing everyone the best! Please reach out and share how you're doing!
