After a few months, I witnessed an incident in which a friend was involved in an accident. He recovered, but then he became depressed. He always causes accidents, and ultimately, on the advice of the a depression therapist, he underwent therapy. He's alright now.

When I realize that I'm turning 65 and all my marriages and relationships have basically failed along with my career prospects. Every day I have to come up with a reason just to keep breathing.  I have to take it one day at a time and just let the depression happen and endure it.

I'm struggling a lot especially in the night time. I'm living alone, and I don't have any human connections during the week. It's horrible and I hate this, I collapse completely almost every night. It seems like everyone else besides me has family, loved ones to spend time with, they have big warm homes and I'm alone. I feel like I'm the only one suffering.

@dubbeldutch Nighttime is a trigger for me too. It's like once the sun goes down I remember why I'm alone and the loneliness just sets in.

@l0n3ly I understand you clearly. I am just sitting here in some kind of sad haze not wanting to do anything at all. I am sad for my son who has severe depression and anxiety and says he does not want to live. He will not try meds or therapy and has many seizures at age 35. He never wants to leave his apartment. I think I  am mostly depressed because I can't seem to help my own child. Certain songs also affect me deeply. I have PTSD from an abusive relationship that I could barely escape from. I don't know how to keep positive when my brain won't let me.

@castledepress So sorry to hear you are suffering. I am also turning 65 and feel like I don't have enough time left to be happy. Nothing is getting better.

The seasons really do it to me. I like the ambiance and festivities of fall (Halloween, colorful leaves, etc), but I hate the loss of sunlight and then getting to winter. I really have a hard time that time of the year

@lurleen747 this time of year reminds me of my awful marriage, the holidays are too family oriented and therefore too depressing.
