Just wanted to take a second to day hello, I’m looking for support and positive vibes during this crazy time. Had a PFO closure in 2018 and Been depressed every since. Lost my mom on Good Friday and really still haven’t mourned the way I need to, die to trying to stay strong for everyone else. Prayers for everyone and if I can ever help anyone please let me know. Look forward to uplifting conversations.

@Coach73 first off I’m so sorry you lost your job and now the loss of your mom. May you have the strength to push forward.
your last response hit home and can relate. Took a walk this morning listening to les brown motivational speaker after crying that I don’t feel well, in pain and tired of all my symptoms with MS. It helped at the moment but came back sad and fatigued

@Coach73 I used to get and still get "man up".....my least favorite phrase in the universe.  I grew up as an INFJ male and was expected to have nerves of steel and be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.  Fell slightly short of everyone's expectations on that one.

@rockin888 I used to drink my way through the sadness and fatigue.  Didn't work out too well.

hi everyone. my names cassidy, i’m 15. i got diagnosed with depression and anxiety last april, and recently my therapist thinks that i have some cptsd. when i was 12 i was in a really abusive friendship, i can’t go into details about it yet because it is hard to talk about. i got out of that relationship a little over a year ago but it still effects my life so much. i am having a really hard time coping with what happened to me and these new mental health issues at the same time, especially because i haven’t found a medication that works for me yet. recently some other things are happening with another friend that have triggered me a lot and made me feel like i’m back in that old friendship, and i feel extremely hopeless. i just don’t understand what my closest friends keep seeing in me that makes them want to hurt me. i truly don’t know what is wrong with me. i just need some support, and i would appreciate any tips on ways to cope with depression and anxiety. i’ve tried so much and nothing is working for me. thanks guys. i hope everyone is doing well but i guess if you’re on this forum, it’s unlikely. whoever’s reading this, just know that it will get better and you are loved. no matter what you are going through

I write poetry as a way of journaling. I used to paint but that was a few years ago. I find art very therapeutic.

@Ssueyd oh gosh that is so hard.  I’m sorry.  Sounds like he should have been more understanding.  But I’m here if you need to talk.  My depression is kicking my butt right now.  It’s so hard when no one understands.  Keep your head up.

@Francis66 I write poetry and am a visual artist which might just save my life in the middle of this lock down.  I used to get chided and made fun of by the extroverts because of my introverted tendencies but none of the extroverts are laughing now.  Journalizing, making art and writing poetry are VERY therapeutic because they are products of the subconscious and allow you to express yourself.   I was going to go to school to become an art therapist but as soon as I hit the submit button for my application this virus hit and the entire city of Chicago was shut down.

@Francis66 You should try to paint again.  Don't worry if you think it sucks, the main thing is that you at least tried.

@cjen31 Hi Cassidy, if it's any consolation being 15 is the worst, you're a year away from 16 and then puberty hits and it's a living hell.  Glad you are on this forum, this kind of thing didn't exist when I was your age and going through the same thing.  Plus I was a guy and was suppose to suck it all up.  My parents were in the middle of divorcing which made it even worse and they really didn't have any room for my sister and I in their lives.  My father moved out and I became the man of the house.  Yeah, at 16, ugh.......I hope you have some support and that your parents are supportive.  Most parents think that their kids are going to run on automatic until they move out, I became the family mediator and counselor at 17 and it was no fun.
