Hi I'm Justin. I was diagnosed a year and a half ago with throat cancer. I've been through radiation. It didn't work. I had some complications and surgeries while awaiting the big surgery. Just want to talk to and get feedback from people in similar situations.

@MONKEYDOG12 Hello Justin, thank you for starting this discussion. I'm sorry to hear that your radiation wasn't successful. We have a thread in our cancer group where people are introducing themselves and sharing their diagnoses, feel free to introduce yourself! I'll link it here:  What is your cancer diagnosis?

Let me tag some members who may be able to share their experience with throat cancer and radiation:

Hi everyone, how are you doing today? emoticon bashful What was your experience like with treatments for throat cancer? Did you go through radiation like Justin? Was it successful? Feel free to share here!

Hello everyone and especially Justin. I did not have radiation or chemo. My diagnosis was squamous cell cancer of the tonsil. The tumor was removed successfully after 12 hours of surgery. I was able to return to normal activity after several months of recovery. That was more than 10 years ago. Radiation was an option but I chose the surgery route after significant intervention by my wife, the surgeon and a lot of prayer. I am praying for your recovery.

Thank you. That's a lot of recovery time must have been tough. I would have just went for surgery but it is taking out my voice box which unfortunately is going to happen anyway. It's nice to talk to people who are understanding. I really have no support around here. That's why I joined up.
