I have had asthma since I was a teenager.(35 now). Its normally mild intermittent. But im have bad flares now. Had to call 911 few weeks ago and get treatment at er.  I have been waking up at night sometimes. This is something that started month ago. I think either asthma or maybe i have sleep apnea. Im a deep sleeper and take meds at night. I have never had this problem before. Any else have this problem? If so what helps?

Yes, my asthma gets worse at night. What I do is give myself a treatment and I drink lemon ginger tea with organic eucalyptus honey and fresh sliced lemons. Everything calms down and I'm able to sleep.

My asthma seems to get worse at night now because I also have allergies. That makes me not able to use my CPAP machine… So then I’m very very tired the next day! I think with my allergies are better I will stop feeling worse at night.

I will take my inhalers and sometimes it’s weird but I will drink some hot chocolate or hot tea and it calms my asthma and I can sleep but it has gotten me up earlier then I want in the morning.  I also am on a schedule that I take my allergy meds at night so I can sleep better.  I just suffer during the day.  I also do salt nasal flush every night.  Anything to clear my nose so I can sleep.  This helps with my breathing too.

@Courtney_J I suffer more at night I never had trouble with my asthma for years until a couple of months ago and I also have a lot of mucus in my throat my doctors says that it is the asthma but with everything going on with this virus it is making very nervous I’ve been to urgent care more than I have in my entire life

A lady I know who is really into the essential oil said to rub frankincense and eucalyptus oil on my neck area when having a rough time a few weeks ago. Along with the provar it seemed to calm it down. I’m learning to use healthy things as well.   I use symbicort n provar

People have already mentioned this, but I also have problems at night occasionally in allergy season. I try to make sure that I take my allergy meds with enough time for them to set in before I go to sleep and I try to drink hot tea or just water too to kind of soothe everything.

@Casperkitten are you doing any better?

My asthma has been acting up mainly in the morning. That’s when my asthma seems to be worse so, than I take all my asthma inhalers. I take Advair but, it’s the generic. I also take spiriva. This virus makes me so scared because I work at Walgreens where customers come and shop. We wear masks and gloves but, still it’s really scary.

Absolutely I also suffer from copd and sleep apnea along with other medical issues. I’m on treatment every four hours sometimes and there are times I can go days without it has bothered me more. Try steam treatment boil water with lemon and oranges put a towel over a bowl and inhale all that steam much as you can take and you will see a big difference

Yes 4pm like clockwork it gets worse. I have had a flareup since going into quarentine. No other symptoms of covid. Just lots of phlegm.  I think my house is making me sick. I had bloodwork and everything was good except inflammation was one point high and my thyroid was super off. Both could be contributing to my asthma. Had a chest xray was negative for pnemonia and heart was normal size. Covid and antibody tests both negative. I am thinking there is mold in my house and i am trying to get my landlord to clean my vents. Going for an echocardiogram and chest cat scan this week because after 2.5 months i am still coughing or clearing my throat especially at night. I drink hot tea all day with lemon and honey. I try to drink thyme tea or lavender. I take breo, proair, singulair, xyzal because im allergic to the earth and every pollen source, xanex for stress.  I am so tired of feeling like crap. This is the longest relapse of sysmtems i have ever had. The second longest was 2.5 months in 2018 when i bought my daughter a hampster. I am thinking maybe her dander is stuck in my vents. Im grasping at straws because i just want to feel good and not think i am dying every day. I am only 47 but very stressed. So getting back tonyour original question yes, the evening is worse. I believe it has to do with the prolong allergy season. It was 46 degrees this morning at its June 1. Everything is covered in pollen. Oh and my doc put me back on predisone for 4 days hoping it would bring my inflammation down and calm my lungs.
